True love lands young woman in quarantine jail; she faces prosecution

By Jacob Nakamura

A 24-year-old woman, whose name has not been released by police, missed her boyfriend so much, she decided to visit him at his hotel room.

The problem? Her boyfriend is in quarantine at the Bayview Hotel. A confidential source of information tells Kandit News the man is COVID-19 positive, which is why he is at the government-designated isolation facility.

"A 24-year-old woman has been placed in quarantine for violating protocols at a Government of Guam isolation facility," reads a statement by police spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao. "On Monday, November 16, 2020, GPD personnel assigned to a government isolation facility was made aware by nursing staff of a possible violation in protocol regarding an unauthorized individual in the facility. A check was made where a 24-year-old female, who unlawfully entered the facility was located in a room."

The situation being what it is, police did not take her into their custody. Instead, public health nurses had her confined to the facility in quarantine.

"This case has been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General for possible indictment and prosecution," according to Mr. Tapao.

So, let me see if I have this straight. They couple is now quarantined together in a tourist hotel with an ocean view and 3 meals a day. This government paid honeymoon is over the top. What will they charge her with, trespassing? I'd take a trespassing charge for a free honeymoon, who wouldn't?
