Terlaje resigns; governor responds with replacement

By Troy Torres

(Tumon, Guam) Joey Terlaje resigned from government service this afternoon. Mr. Terlaje is embroiled in a massive federal corruption case.

Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero appointed Police Capt. Joe Carbullido to replace him. Here is her statement:

I accepted Joey Terlaje's resignation today, and I respect his decision to focus on his family at this time. Our law enforcement agencies must be free of anything that may distract from their mission. In the interim, I have detailed Captain Joe Carbullido, a veteran fo the Guam Police Department, to act as DOC's Director until the return of Director Sam Brennan next week.

This is a developing story.
