Nine Guam senators voted to confirm Bic Sobti's nomination to the Guam airport board of directors despite their knowledge of an ongoing investigation by their CNMI counterparts into Sobti.
Mr. Sobti is under investigation for his receipt of multi-million dollar non competitive contracts with the CNMI government using federal COVID-19 funds. He received those contracts without having any business license in the CNMI.
Kandit also has previously reported about several contracts Mr. Sobti's companies have received from the government of Guam for the sale of medical supplies and equipment, and personal protective equipment. He also did not have a business license to sell these items on Guam at the time the contracts were executed.
The airport board of directors handles millions of dollars in contracts.
