House Democrats are drafting up legislation President Biden wants that will pay parents $300 every month per child younger than 6, and $250 every month per child between the ages of 6 and 17.

The mechanism will be the existing child tax credit.

Congressman Michael San Nicolas has previously confirmed his office will be working to ensure Guam is included in every relief package proposed by House Democrats.

The Washington Post first reported eligibility requirements. Eligibility for the benefit, similar to the stimulus checks would be based on family income for the prior tax year and be phased out at aa certain income amount, the Post reported.

This child tax credit expansion plan is just one of several provisions of Mr. Biden's proposed $1.9 trillion relief package for Americans. Other parts of the plan include an additional $1,400 one-time stimulus for qualified taxpayers, expansion of the unemployment program, and a $15 minimum wage.
